MY STORY

Hi, I’m Shae! My journey into skin began with my own struggles. From a very young age, I experienced persistent acne, later discovering underlying hormonal imbalances and PCOS after coming off the contraceptive pill in my early 20’s. Through lifestyle changes and skincare I was able to clear my skin.

I began my career in 2016, completing my Diploma of Beauty before continuing straight into a Bachelor of Dermal Sciences — working hands-on with skin ever since.

My Philosophy

After nearly a decade of treating skin — and navigating my own — there are a few things I know to be true.

Most skin problems aren't what they look like on the surface. Hormonal acne isn't just a breakout. Reactive, sensitised skin isn't just "sensitivity." Rosacea isn't just redness. They're responses — to inflammation, to barrier dysfunction, to internal factors that topical treatments alone can't resolve.

The beauty industry — and honestly, much of the aesthetics industry — has a stimulation problem. More actives. More treatments. More interventions. When skin isn't improving, the default is often to do more.

At Curated Skin Aesthetics, we do the opposite. We calm before we correct. We repair before we stimulate. We understand before we treat.

This isn't a slower approach. It's a smarter one. And it's why our clients — many of whom have spent years and significant money elsewhere — finally start seeing the results they'd almost given up on.

I built this clinic for those women. I was one of them.

A woman standing outside a commercial building with a bright yellow lease sign in the window, smiling and raising her arms, under a clear blue sky.
A cozy bedroom corner featuring a round mirror mounted on a white wall, a white floating shelf holding decorative brown trays and a white vase with dried flowers, a window with cream curtains letting in natural light, and a bed with textured beige bedding.
A hallway with a sign reading 'Clinic Room 2' and a framed black-and-white portrait on the wall.

HOW CSA CAME TO BE

CSA started because I kept seeing the same thing happen to the same clients.

Women who had been told their acne was "just hormonal." Women whose reactive skin had been given more treatments when it needed fewer. Women who'd spent thousands on products and procedures, and still didn't understand their own skin.

I'd been treating skin clinically since 2016 — first through my Diploma of Beauty, then through a Bachelor of Dermal Sciences — and the more I learned, the more I understood that what was missing wasn't better products. It was a better approach.

Curated Skin Aesthetics was built to be that approach. A clinic where the consultation comes before the treatment. Where the plan is built around your skin — not a menu. Where you leave understanding your skin, not just feeling temporarily better.

That's still what it is today.

MY APPROACH

MY APPROACH

We start where most clinics don't: with the question why is your skin behaving this way?

Before any treatment is recommended, we assess barrier function, identify inflammatory triggers, review your skin history, and understand the contributing factors — hormonal, lifestyle, and environmental — that are shaping your skin right now.

From there, we build a treatment plan in phases:

Phase 1 — Strengthen & Normalise Before we stimulate, we repair. Strengthening the barrier, reducing inflammation, and creating a skin that can actually respond to treatment.

Phase 2 — Targeted & Treat With a healthy foundation, we address specific concerns — acne, pigmentation, texture, redness — using clinically appropriate modalities sequenced for your skin.

Phase 3 — Boost and Progress Consistency is what creates lasting change. We review, adjust, and continue building results over time.

You'll never be guessing. You'll always know what we're doing, why, and what comes next.

Meet The Team

OUR TEAM

Every clinician at CSA is a qualified dermal therapist — educated to degree or advanced diploma level — and trained in the CSA approach to skin health. We don't do cookie-cutter protocols. We treat each client the way we'd want our own skin treated.
